Here at Springfield, we take pride in our education. We have 5 different schools that all have their different purposes. I am going to start off with our literacy center. At the SLC (Springfield literacy center) we believe that every child can read. The SLC is a great school that offers two half-day kindergarten classes am and pm. The SLC also includes first-grade full day. The unique thing that the SLC and Sabold and Scenic (elementary schools) offer is reading at different levels. All students are started at the first level and then tested to see if they can move up a level. Eventually, they can move to higher levels where they are reading novels and stories. This unique reading system also has this chart where you keep track of what you read. Once the students reach certain milestones they can get prizes which help motivate them to read more. The middle school, ETR is also called the writing center. Etr has you write an essay in every class you take during the trimester. You take all of these essays and put it into your online writing portfolio. This portfolio is to see how much you have improved as a writer to show that Etr has strengthened your writing skills. Etr is also the number one school in Delco for the PSSA. (standardize test) The last school is Shs (Springfield high school). the high school offers different academics that you can enter your junior year that help you get into a good college and chose the electives that you would enjoy. A few of the academics that you can choose from include stem, science, and arts. These electives give you an example of what you would have to do if you were to do that in the real world. This is a very good opportunity for kids that help them as they progress throughout life. Our 5 schools are great schools that have a lot of academical opportunities.
